From now on you are able to input the following files when entering the geographical information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A txt file where each line contains (tab-separated):<br \/>\nLocation\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Longitude\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Latitude<br \/>\nOr a line starting with &#8216;#&#8217;, indicating this line is a comment and will be ignored<br \/>\nSee example:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gabmap.nl\/examples\/Dutch613-coordinates.txt\">https:\/\/gabmap.housing<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/gabmap.nl\/examples\/Dutch613-coordinates.txt\">.rug.nl\/examples\/Dutch613-coordinates.txt<\/a><\/li>\n<li>An xls(x) file in which every row contains three values (in three consecutive cells):<br \/>\nLocation Longitude Latitude<\/li>\n<li>A kml file which only includes coordinates of locations, but no polygons<\/li>\n<li>A kml file generated from within the <a href=\"https:\/\/cran.r-project.org\/web\/packages\/sp\/index.html\">sp R package<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/cran.r-project.org\/web\/packages\/rgdal\/index.html\">rgdal R package<\/a><\/li>\n<li>A kml file including both location coordinates and polygons (the original option)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Whenever no polygons in your input file are present, there are two options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You may select a country from the drop-down list: Gabmap will use a crude outline for that country as your polygon<\/li>\n<li>If you haven&#8217;t selected a country, Gabmap will draw a convex hull around all points in your dataset (+ 10 kilometers)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If a polygon has been generated, you will be able to download the resulting kml file in the &#8216;places&#8217; output (&#8220;download generated kml file&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the input data, Gabmap now not only accepts tab-separated text files, but also xls(x) files having the same pattern as before:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The top row contains the labels of the items<\/li>\n<li>The first column contains the locations (<strong>matching<\/strong> those in the geographical file)<\/li>\n<li>The top-left cell is empty<\/li>\n<li>The cells contain the variants used in each place for each item<\/li>\n<li>See example:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gabmap.nl\/examples\/Dutch613.xlsx\">https:\/\/gabmap.nl\/examples\/Dutch613.xlsx<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you encounter any issues please contact <a href=\"http:\/\/www.martijnwieling.nl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Martijn Wieling<\/a>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gabmap has been updated regarding the input formats it accepts.
